Comfort, comfort my people
What comes to your mind when you hear the word comfort? A cozy blanket? A cup of coffee in the morning? A listening ear from a friend? A timely word of encouragement to your discouraged heart? Or, perhaps, not even a word, just silence. Job’s friends sat without uttering a word for seven days to comfort him. Whatever is the case, in this hurting world, we need to comfort the people that God has assigned to us. We need to guide them to God who bring us hope and future. Isaiah’s original readers were much like you and me. They battled despair as they lived in Babylonian captivity. They struggled to maintain a godly character in the midst of a godless culture. So, we have to give our people so much needed comfort.
“For All” Club
Our club’s meeting was a blessing this month. We met for the first time since the summer break. We praise the Lord for this great opportunity to spend fruitful time of sharing the Gospel in a creative way. Our prayer is for all the participants whether church members or not that the Lord continues his work in their hearts to attain his goals.
Praise and Prayer Points
In December we are going to travel to Xīnjiāng, China. There we are going to meet with some pastors. Pray for careful planning and necessary finances. We’ll need $1500 to cover the trip. Pray that the biggest part of the funds arrive in October because we need to make most of our travel arrangements then. Continue to pray for our ministry leaders. That they mature in the Lord and became effective caretakers of the God’s flock.
Friends and Family
Liliya’s father passed away on Sept 19th after laying in a bed for 4.5 years. We talked about salvation with him as he was laying all these years. He was not reacting but we believe “faith comes by hearing…” We hope he has received the Lord. Please pray for all the relatives to come to the Lord. Thank you for praying for him all these years.
Thank you for your prayers and encouragement. They mean a lot for us.
