NATIONAL TEACHER’S DAY

On Tuesday, June 28th, National Teacher’s Day was celebrated in Nicaragua. Not only are the teachers acknowledged for the hard work they are doing, but they are given a day off as well.

MTC’s student body celebrated this day by honoring each teacher for their intricate and diligent work and to let them know that they are grateful for all they have done and continually do for the next generation of rising professionals. They know that their role is not easy, but it is one of the most rewarding and important roles a person can have; to be able to teach others.

BUCK & RHEA MARSHALL BRING A TEAM TO NEW HOPE

On Monday, July 4th, New Hope in Nicaragua had the pleasure and blessing of being able to receive once again, Pastors Buck and Rhea Marshall accompanied by 20 youth and adults from New Hope Church from Kodak, Tennessee. During their stay at New Hope, they visited churches, feeding centers and painted some classrooms at the New Hope Facility.
There was a time of fellowship with the youth that came from the states and the youth of Casa Adonai. It was a beautiful time of praise and worship. Part of the team of young missionaries testified about what God did in their lives during their time here. It was truly incredible!
We commend this team as they were the first team to come to New Hope in Nicaragua since the plague of Covid-19.

VACATION IS OVER!!!

On Friday, July 1st, the students went on vacation for three weeks, finishing the 1st semester of school, and came back on July 25th to start fresh for the 2nd semester.

What a blessing it is to work with the children of Nicaragua. Over the past 20 years we have watched as hundreds of these students have graduated from MTC and went on to college or took their place working in various jobs.
For many of these children MTC has been the “lifeline” that changed their lives. More important than becoming an adult and taking their place here in society is the fact that many of them received Christ as their Lord and Saviour.
I started out teaching them that “life was hard,” and “life was not fair,” so don’t expect it to be.
I told them there was a tow in Nicaragua that will try to drag you down. For every step you take forward you may lose two.
This seemed kind of far fetched to some as they had no running water, dirt floors in their homes, no electricity, barely enough food to survive, practically no money…
I told them they were not locked in by their poverty. Their only indifference was their lack of faith and trust in God to see them through.
I begin instilling in our first students to begin to dream… begin to look to the Lord for He had a beautiful plan for their lives!
I remember one student telling how she could not see anyway before coming to MTC where she could ever go to college, but, she said she decided to take me up on my words and begin to believe she could do it… money or no money, she was going! And she did… and she is a doctor in Nicaragua today.
What happened??? These kids begin to look beyond their poverty and the pitiful conditions they lived in. Many of them begin to do exactly that… “dream.” And now, they “own the dream.” Now there are doctors and lawyers and ministers who are touching Nicaragua for Christ!
And, you who have give to New Hope for years were such an important part of this happening. The truth is, without you and God… their lives would never be changed… for eternity!!!

S.O.S. URGENT PRAYER REQUEST!!!

You can see in the above picture what is left of our main auditorium. As you may remember, “the volcano ate it,” as they say here in Nicaragua. We are less than 5 miles from a “live-volcano.” Although we painted and painted and welded… and did everything possible to save it, it disintegrated because of fumes in the air (that we could not see), from the volcano. Now, New Hope needs $32,000 to rebuild various areas where we use to have a roof over it. Although lumber is extremely high in Nicaragua, everything must be rebuilt with wood. If we do, there will be no corrosion problems from the volcano. We have other buildings in our facilities that have wood beams instead of metal and they are as good as they were when we began building here 20+ years ago. This building was so big, we didn’t know how we could use wood. Contractors told us here that if we used the same paint on it that was put on iron pipes under the ocean we would have nothing to be concerning about. We believed them. But, they were wrong! Though we spent 1,000’s of dollars ($100 a gallon), for this special paint, it did not take care of the problem.PLEASE AGREE WITH US IN PRAYER FOR THE $32,000 THAT ISNEEDED TO REBUILD PARTS OF THE ROOF ANDFOR THE OTHER MATERIALS WE NEED TO FINISH THIS.Though it may not look like it, we have come a long way already in making this change. This should take care of this need for many years to come.AND TO IT ALL, WE SAY, “TO GOD BE THE GLORY” FOR ALL HE HAS AND WILL ACCOMPLISH HERE IN NICARAGUA AS WE CONTINUE TO WORK WITH THE CHILDREN…

They held their peace and glorified

Acts 11 portrays to us a vivid picture of the battle between
old-testament-way of life and worship and the new ones.
Although born again and baptized the Jewish-wing of the
church was reluctant to give up the old ways of doing things.
They didn’t even preach the good news to non-Judeans (:19).
Even though Peter’s shadow healed some people, deep inside
he needed a very serious transformation. The application
of these biblical truths is far more reaching than we may
imagine. This struggle comes in every age the church exists. In
every age church goes through the motions of making a choice
of transforming itself into the new ways of life and worship.

Summer Camp

According to the forecast, the first day of our camp was supposed to
be raining. God’s people prayed. There were clouds and lightning.
It was humping and bumping but no rain. It was very sensitive for us
to install all the tents without rain. On the second day, rain was not
on the forecast but it poured. The Lord is a lord of powers of nature.
The camp was a success in winning souls for Christ and
preaching the gospel to indigenous Bashkir people. Please
pray for those repented in the camp to do their next spiritual
step. Also, pray for the local people who were in contact with
us and their coming to Christ.

ESL

We thought we would come up with a new name for our esl
school in this prayer letter but we won’t. It just takes a little while.
Please pray for wisdom and creativity as we plan for the new
school year. Could you pray for the fulfillment
of one need? We need $300 for our websites and hosting for our
school for next year.

Friends and Family

This is final week of rest for us all before starting a new school year.
Thank you for praying for us. We are so honored to be used by the
Lord for preaching and proclaiming His Kingdom here in Bashkortostan.

New Hope Children’s Foundation — David and Rose Ford

AMAZING TRIP TO NICARAGUA!!!

My wife’s Rose’s recent mission trip to Nicaragua changed lives… including her own!!!
We used to struggle for interpreters when we started New Hope back in 2001. But, over the years, things changed until… we are blessed to have our daughter Charity interpret for us. We have been proud of how her grasp of the Spanish language has grown over the years. What a blessing Charity “has been” and “is” to the ministry of New Hope in Nicaragua.

Charity and Rose
Rose praying for the children

I turned “73” this year with Rose turning “70.” Neither of us plan on letting up or slowing down. As long as we have breath and a heartbeat, we will continue doing our best to forward the Kingdom of God around the world!
And, New Hope is not slowing down. It’s still full speed ahead!

Since Charity has been spending so much time now in Nicaragua, working with the ministry and directing New Hope, I have taken the load off of her of producing News Break every month. Sorry about the delays in the past. I plan to update you every month.

NEW HOPE WAS “BLESSED” WITH OUR 16TH GRADUATION THIS PAST DECEMBER.

This year has been one of New Hope’s most challenging years. However, if there are never any battles, there will never be any victories!
Ever since Covid raised its ugly head in 2020, it has been so difficult for the teachers and the students to be faithful in school attendance.
In the midst of their poverty, who would think that they would face another serious opposition.
And then there are the challenges Nicaragua is facing that often seem to be growing day-by-day. This has also made things very difficult for New Hope’s ministry there.
But, through it all, God has been faithful! No doubt what the devil meant to be the end is only the beginning of a new and great chapter in the lives of the children we work with!
To it all we say, “TO GOD BE THE GLORY.”

NEW HOPE’S RENOVATION OF THE HIGH SCHOOL HAS COME TO A COMPLETE STOP.

It has been especially difficult for school now with our children, as the middle section of this part of our school is not finished. The truth is… New Hope has been without finances to move forward on this for several months.
As many of you know, our roof that was over this area was caving in. It was truly a sad situation. As they say in Nicaragua, the volcano ate it.
We are less than five miles from the Masaya volcano, which is still active. Since the wind often blows the volcano smoke in our direction, whatever we do in El Crucero is under constant attack. The acid in the air is constantly working against what we do.
After several months of not using my guitar, when I would open my guitar case, the strings, being steel, would almost be disintegrated. It’s hard to think it would permeate a hardshell guitar case, but it does.
After battling to save our roof of the school for some 15 years or so, it finally succumbed to the elements.

Now, we are rebuilding what we need in the middle of where our gym used to be with concrete. We are using wood for the structures of the classroom roofs so that we will never have this problem again.
Thanks for “agreeing with us in prayer” for the financial needs to be met so we can finish the areas in the school that must to be taken care of.
Although building has stopped… in Jesus Christ’s name the building must go forward!!!

Thanks so very much for
enabling New Hope to continue supporting the
children of Nicaragua.
Over the past 16 years hundreds of students have gone forth to share Christ’s love in Nicaragua.
Those of you who give monthly are a “vital link in the chain” to making this happen.

Tasmanian Update

As America enjoys summer, Good News Clubs in Tasmania have just finished Term 2. This Term God has brought growth in numbers to the club in the downtown area and new leaders as we have had to say goodbye to two of our faithful workers. The boys and girls plunged deeply into lessons from Jesus’ early ministry that helped to discover that He really is God. Jesus told the woman at the well things that only God could know. Jesus is the giver of life as he healed a nobleman’s son even from a distance. Jesus helps lead us out of the darkness of sin as He gave blind Bartimaeus his sight.
Over school holidays, Good News Club training will enable more teachers to share the Gospel with boys and girls. It is exciting that there is a 12-year-old coming along to the training who would like to teach memory verses to the younger children in Good News Club.

School holidays are also a time of planning for future events. A new Good News Club will start in Term 3 in the St. Leonards community. This is the community where my church is. It has taken a lot of groundwork to get to this place, but God is opening up the door to finally restart a Good News Club that Covid shut down in 2020. I will also be leading a children’s program at the Northern Tasmania Bishop’s Training Event soon. This will be a time for children of Christian parents, so a bit of a change from the evangelistic lessons of Good News Club.

Enjoying a day on the West Coast of Tasmania on the Queen’s Birthday weekend.

Prayer Requests
• Praise God for the new Good News Club getting ready to restart in St. Leonards.
• Praise God for raising up eager workers for all three Good News Clubs.
• Pray for me as I prepare to train new workers that the Gospel will be front and center of what we do and that new leaders would gain a passion for that.
• Pray for children who will be attending the St. Leonards Good News Club that God would be opening their hearts now to hear His Word.
• Pray for a male leader for the St. Leonards Good News Club.

Grace Christian Outreach — Kevin and Sylvia Rosendahl

Dear Friends,
God’s blessings to all of you! In many ways it seems like our
world is out of control. When you see the news, it is hard to
believe the things that are happening. Signs continue to
happen showing us that Christ’s return is getting closer and
closer. Along with the signs are the shakings that are going on
to draw His children closer to Him and to draw those who do
not know Jesus as their Lord and Savior to a relationship with
Him. Now is the time to keep our eyes on Jesus and trust Him
to bring us through the trials and tribulations that seem to be
so prevalent at this time. He is faithful.

Our ministry time in Guadalajara was awesome as we did
three children’s outreaches and a pastor’s conference. One of
the children’s outreaches was in a street in front of the house
of our Guadalajara Bible College Director, Jorge Miranda. Over
a hundred people of all ages attended the outreach and 60 +
people prayed to give their life to Christ. They all received a
great meal as well!

Praying for the children at a street outreach in Gualalajara. What
a blessing as many children gave their lives to Jesus.

The second outreach was in a church in a real needy part of
Guadalajara and again 100+ people attended and 50+ people
prayed to give their lives to Christ. The third outreach was outside
in a real impoverished area and we ministered to 250 + people
and 200+ people, mostly children and youth, trusted in Christ.
In each of these outreaches, besides sharing the Gospel, the
children participated in games, sang children’s Bible songs and
each child or youth received a nice Blessing Bag. Many kids also
received a good used bike and parents were able to get nice
clothing for their families and reading glasses if they needed
them. Please pray for each of these new believers to grow strong
in the Lord and to become fervent disciples of Christ!

The Pastor’s Conference that we held in Guadalajara went very
well. Approximately 20 pastors attended. Each pastor who came
received 13 Bibles and two boxes of Gospel literature. The Bibles
will be given to people in their church who do not have a Bible
and the Gospel tracts will be given out to those who do not know
Christ to share the plan of salvation with them. Pastors who
needed reading glasses received them as well. Please pray for God
to use each of these pastors mightily and for each tract and Bible
that was given out to bear much fruit for the Kingdom of God.

It was great to connect with the pastors at the Pastors conference in
Guadalajara. We were able to learn of their needs and to provide them
with tracts and Bibles.

All of the beans that were donated to GCOM a couple of months
ago by a fellow missionary have gone into Mexico and one half of
the beans – 2200 pounds – were used to supply seven feeding
centers with beans for a long period of time in the central state of
Veracruz. The other half will be given out as care packages at the
church plant in Nuevo Laredo, that will be starting in two weeks,
and a friend of the ministry will also bring them down to churches
in Oaxaca to distribute to people with immense need. Please pray
that these beans get to the people that have the greatest need!

We will be bringing a semi-truck down of ministry supplies to the
border to cross into Mexico in a couple of months and would like to
bring several more pallets of beans down to use during ministry
outreaches beginning in September. The cost per pound for whole
beans is $ .60 cents a pound so for two tons, the cost would be
$2400 which would be a huge help to the needy people in Mexico.
Please pray if this is something you would like to help with.

GCOM has been able to give out new reading glasses to many people who needed them.
Here two of the pastors at the Pastors Conference received a pair and this will be a big help
to them as they will be better able to read their Bible.

We are in need of car repairs on our two ministry vehicles. One of
them, the Suburban, needs work done on the brakes, steering, an
engine part needs to be changed and the back door locks and air conditioning
need to be fixed. The cost we were quoted was $1800.
The pickup that we use in Mexico primarily also needs repair. It is
experiencing turbocharger problems and is the vehicle we use for
hauling ministry supplies. This truck has taken a beating on the
bumpy Mexican roads. The mechanic says that a turbocharger
assembly replacement along with labor costs will run us $5200
unless we can find a good used turbocharger. Please pray for God to
help us to make these repairs as soon as possible! Please prayerfully
consider helping us toward these repairs
Thanks for the many ways that you partner with GCOM to reach lost
souls for Christ, to train future spiritual leaders, to get God’s Word in
the hands of those who are hungry for the truth and to start and
build churches. We thank God for you and pray God’s blessing over
you, your family and all that you put your hands to!

In Christ’s Love,
Rev. Kevin, Sylvia and Joshua Rosendahl
